We all know Damian’s not one for physical or verbal affection. So I raise you: drawings

Drawings and paintings are the easiest way inside Damian’s mind. The more angry or disturbed he is, the more details the drawing is and the palette depends on the emotion. Fear? Bright lights with one pitch black spot. Anxious? A mixture of dark and light colours.

No matter what he draws, the batfam always looks for how detailed it is. On days he’s happy or content the drawing looks a bit abstract, like too many ideas were flowing and he didn’t mind making a mess (not having a specific direction) of his drawing.

But it’s also how he shows affection.

On Dicks birthday he once painted the entire circus along with a little dick laughing and swinging on the trapeze with his parents with the crew doing their acts and the animals having fun.

That was the first indication Dick had of Damian’s change in behaviour that showed him he was willing to open up, to care and change…even if it took time.

Jason found a particularly striking portrait of his favourite scene from a book, painted with a magnificent splendour with every detail and symbolism present, with the characters drawn just as he’d imagined. It’s so beautiful he hangs it in one of his most visited safe houses, and it isn’t until later when he realises it could have been the reason Damian stole his favourite book which contained notes on each scene.

Alfred catches a glimpse of Damian painting something he insists is for Bruce’s eyes only, but the palette was a mixture of bright colours.

Only on his parents death anniversary, when all his siblings are in town and sitting in a room with Bruce when he taps on Dick, Jason and Steph’s shoulders and asks them to come with him. They’re hesitant at first but the vulnerability in his eyes finally wins them over.

Damian knows how to draw, but not how to present, especially when everyone’s watching and he doesn’t know how they’ll react, or rather how Bruce would.

So they help him figure out how he wants to show Bruce, and on his request together take the painting and unveil it in front of Bruce when they’re all standing on the Balcony.

It’s a picture of the entire family, with all the newest members and in the background homages of their superhero identities, along with Easter eggs for poison ivy, Harley, the justice league and so many others.

But in the centre was Bruce, standing in the centre of his parents and all the other members in order from oldest to youngest, surrounding him.

It was the first time Damian learnt that tears aren’t always a bad thing.

Lucie / Cooper Davies Info Dump! 🎀✨

This is a disorganized because I just want to talk about one of my favorite characters from Hare, Fox, and The Moon (written by me and @cupiidskiss ♥️)

This means there will be spoilers for Hare Fox Moon, but I’ll keep major spoilers to the end.

Who is Lucie?

Lucie is an American citizen of German-French decent in his mid 20’s. He/she is introduced in chapter 9 (Argument) as a cross dressing man of the night.

“‘I’m not a waiter, honey,’ grinned the… man? Malt squinted at him and noticed the more defined jaw bone and masculine features under the makeup… His lipstick lips parted, ‘I can get you and I something if you’d want. Only if you treat me, just one night.’ His voice is husky for someone of similar stature to Malt, maybe shorter, thicker in some places, and lacking facial hair.”

Lucie was introduced into the story, a little on a whim so Malt would have someone to talk to and progress the plot while Malt and Boone had their first major plot point where they were away from each other. She later developed into an askew parallel of Malt and Boone’s relationship.

Lucie functions as tangible proof that Boone has a history of non-heterosexual behavior, which is a step forward in the “is Boone gay for Malt?” plot.

“‘Boone.’ The prostitutes eyes went wide. ‘Boone Quinn?’ Malt nodded. ‘Oh wooow, I really did twist the wires in his head, didn’t I?… He was one of my clients.’”

Up until then, the audience assumes Boone has always been this gruff, blood hungry cishet man. Lucie happily explains (at a price) how Boone is actually a softie and bends easily to the allure of femininity. While Boone has internalized homophobia problems, it is implied numerous times that Boone enjoyed his night with Lucie. It is mentioned a few times how Boone even thinks about Lucie and what their night together meant.

“boone whipped his body around to finally face malt. ‘that [night together] was a one time thing, i don’t…i don’t want to think about it. it was a mistake.’ … ‘i don’t know... how i feel… i mean, fuck. im a man. he looked like a woman but. I just.’ shame dwelled in his chest, he felt sick almost. ‘i think about it so much. i shouldn’t be thinking about it this much’” (chapter 15, Boner).

Lucie offers Malt an openly queer man he could bang, but Malt passes on it because he (unaware of it rn) is terribly dependent on Boone and can’t imagine picking anyone else.

Lucie’s first appearance is a little brief, and without the context of who Cooper Davies is, a reader would think Lucie was a one time character.

Cooper Davies 💈

Cooper Davies is Lucie by day! He works as a barber in Saint Denis and is well liked for his charisma and ease of conversing. He has feminine features, but not enough to make people judge him. He passes well enough as an eccentric cishet man to exist in the world without trouble (as of 1898 at least). He has a roommate-partner of sorts who is a working girl. The two of them pass well enough as a straight couple to help keep Cooper’s homosexual behavior out of the limelight.

The first time Cooper is mentioned is in chapter 24 (that isn’t released as of the moment). His scene is brief, only being present at Wallace Station to buy Boone and Malt tickets to get back to Saint Denis after… a lot happened to Malt and Boone. After Boone offered Cooper a pseudo name when they met, the text states,

“cooper took in that boone didn’t use his real name—or maybe that was his real name, boone quinn could have been a fake name for all he knew, and he knew many things” (chapter 24).

Lucie and Cooper and never stated to be the same people, but it is hinted in segments throughout the chapter how Cooper recognized Boone, and how Boone vaguely recognized Cooper’s face but couldn’t pin point where. He later misremembers and says he recognized him from the barber shop (which isn’t wrong but also isn’t the full picture).

Cooper has had a history of indulging in underground drag and frequenting a secret queer bar called The Golden Lantern. He later began selling his services around the bar and streets for a little extra cash. It’s not a necessity but a thing he does to express himself. He spends more of the night talking and connecting with the queer community than actually having transactions.

It is illustrated later in the story that Cooper lives in an upper floor apartment outside of La Bastile (the saloon Boone frequents) and began to study Boone after their night together. He already people watched, painted, and wrote poetry from his balcony so it wasn’t too odd for him to begin noticing Boone’s habits.

Like I said with the askew parallels: Malt and Cooper both obsess over Boone and are queer men with feminine characteristics. The thing that sets them apart is how Cooper is accepted into society, while Malt is perpetually at the outskirts and unable to carve a fulfilling life in Saint Denis.

Cooper forever longs from a distance, too chicken to initiate an interaction with Boone again. Boone doesn’t know Lucie is Cooper, so when Boone comes in to the barber shop, Cooper can’t naturally bring it up without outing himself as queer. Since the interaction is business, neither gets to be especially close even in a customer and employee way.

Malt gets to have hands on interactions with Boone day in and day out, but he lacks any career or family outside of what Boone provides. His obsession is not just that, it’s also a dependency, and that’s partially why Lucie feels bad for Malt by the end of the story…

Spoilers for the end of Hare, Fox, Moon‼️

Cooper has a speaking role one other time in Malt’s epilogue. By then, the time is somewhere in the 1910’s and Boone had been hung.

His possessions could have been reclaimed by anyone who stepped up to take them, but no one did; Boone had no kin, no partner, no friends, no one who remembered him for being anything but a brutal man who womanized.

Cooper didn’t step forward to take the belongings because he was convinced he was a nobody to Boone and had no right to own his possessions, even if Cooper badly wanted to keep them. He thought it was selfish to take something that didn’t belong to him, clinging to a deadman’s memory.

Instead, he stashed drawings, poems, newspaper clippings and excerpts. Way back, he used to watch Malt and Boone laugh and smile and grow undoubtedly close. Cooper became so infatuated with Malt and Boone because Cooper saw it as a way to voyeuristically satiate his desire.

So when Malt bumbled into Saint Denis after ~11 years, Cooper was heart broken to realize Malt came to reunite with Boone. He had to delicately (without outing himself as being Lucie) inform Malt that Boone had been dead for a while.

Little remained to remember Boone by, most people forgot about his death, just yet another name in the newspaper of criminals. This broke Malt because all the tangible things Boone gave him (braided hair, bolo tie, hair flowers, gun holster, food chain knife, custom engraved revolver) were all gone, lost to the sands of time.

Feeling bad for only being able to offer bad news, Cooper gives his heartfelt collection of Boone memorabilia to Malt. He tells Malt a little bit about why he has so many hand-made things of the two of them, but overall lets the papers speak for themselves.

Now, this part breaks my heart, but Malt is a wanted criminal and Martelli’s mafia wants him dead. When Cooper is questioned for his involvement talking to a criminal, he reluctantly tells the officers where he last saw Malt heading. He is inconsolable that he had to do that to keep himself, his girlfriend, and his family safe. ;-; in one action, he killed the last remnant of his fixation from all those years ago.

While the epilogue ends rather grimly, it is possible for Cooper to have a kind of happy ending. Cooper and Kathrine are two of the only people who survive til the end of the story and had any personal interaction with Boone. Me and Paige joke that they trauma bond and have a “meh” happy ending together as friends in a corrupt city that is somehow even worse than it was before.

That is the bulk of the info dump, I just really like her design and story. Sighhhh, Lucie and Malt could have been such friends together, If only Lucie/Cooper had the balls to talk to his crushes.

Said photo of himself as red robin is a selfie, specificly one of him in the batcave, in the background all you can see is chaos, nightwing and red hood are wrestling, robin has joined in, spoiler is filming, black bat is watching, as is signal, batman excudes pure tired dad energy. At first people dont notice the background choas, they're too focused on the fact that the person running the blog is red robin (later on they realize he must have been a child when the blog first started causing further breakdowns), when they get over the fact that the person running the blog quit cause they became red robin, they notice the chaos, (and the fact that the pic is taken in the batcave, proving it is infact red robin not someone with good cosplay), the internet breaks again.

People beg for more batfam content (batfam and batfamily is not trending due to the background of the photo). Tim obliges. First post, the video spoiler had been taking in the background of the now famous (for gotham anyways) photo. Most of it is arguing, with some things beeped out, (mostly names).

Now the blog is a mix of what it was before. Never-before-seen-photos though this time its photos of the batfamily, and their chaos, though sometimes its photos like before candid pictures (taken on quiet patrol nights). Updates are mainly what villians are out, and when they are captured (updates about a villian being captured now feature selfies of the batkids with the tied up/knocked up villain, a good portion of said selfies include batman with tired dad energy in the background). What was batman and robin sightings is now selfies of the batfam on patrol that night, with an added section where citizens of gotham can post about their own personal sightings of the batfam, (though these must be approved by an admin, which is babs and tim). Theroies is now a sort of Q&A where theres a thread where people can put questions for the batfam, (though non identity revealing ones, though gotham citizens respect their privacy). People have to specify what bat they want the question to go to, or if it a question for all of them, questions range from "What is each bats favorite food?" to "How is being a single parent treating you batman?". Once a month a video is posted with the bats answering said questions, the locations in the video vary from the batcave, outer space (watchtower), random rooftops, and mask footage in the middle of fights. Theres also little about sections for the batfam, not just the ones people know are members of the batfam, but also oracle, Harely Quinn, Poision Ivy, Catwoman, and the formaly unknown Agent A (oracle was a rumor and a myth that hadn't quite been dismissed due to alot of people overhearing the bats thank oracle or ask oracle something), (Agent A's about section states "the only reason the cave hasn't been destroyed" and "the only reason for batmans sanity"). Theres also videos and pictures of pranks on the justice league and batman, and of course batfam prank wars. The favorite section however is the patrol fails section, which is run by babs, theres alot of footage of them falling off rooftops, and alot of it is targeted at batman, (on of the favorite ones was filmed by spoiler, where red robin is layign facedown on a rooftop, off camera a voice asks "are you ok", red robin replys "no", off camera voice again "why?", red robins response "life.", off camera you hear "mood", it then cuts to a black screen with the text "What you cant hear is the response of everyone saying mood on the coms, along with batmans 'done-with-everything' sigh - Oracle".

I have this really intricate Tim hc that from the ages of about 9-13 he ran an incredibly popular Batman and Robin fanblog. Like, over a million followers kind of popular. It's full of never-before-seen photos, stories from Batman + Robin sightings and encounters, updates, theories, etc.

Now, Tim was very careful to make sure his identity was hidden--no name, age, or general identity was mentioned on or linked with the account. No photo posted included so much as one of his fingers. All anyone knew was that whoever ran the blog lived in Gotham and had enough time to update the blog several times a day.

When Tim became Robin, he gradually stopped posting on the account and eventually completely stops, leaving his followers to wonder what could have possibly happened to him (anything can happen in Gotham, after all).

A few years go by and some My Immortal shit ends up happening where several people come forward pretending to have run the blog, but none of them can verify that they're telling the truth.

And then one day. Tim remembers the blog, logs back into it, and posts a photo of himself in full Red Robin getup with the caption "hey guys, sorry ive been gone for so long. But guess what!"

Summary: Set before the events in The Suicide Squad, you and your boyfriend Rick convince Waller to let Harley out for a night out

You let out a loud sigh as you regianed your balance after the fight. You caught your breath, looking around at what remained. Or rather, who remained. You weren’t surprised to find Rick alive, looking tired but alive. Alongside him was the infamous Harley Quinn. You limped on your injured leg over to the two of them.

“How are you feeling?” you muttered, coughing out some smoke. Rick looked up at you.

“Rough,” he muttered back.

“You know?” Harely said, standing. “I’m actually okay!” You laughed gently and nudged her.

“Of course you are.” You grabbed Rick’s hand and Harley grabbed his other. The two of you helped him up. You looked him over, tracing down his arm as you tried to find any serious wounds. He probably had a concussion but other than that, he looked alright.

“Are you okay?” Rick asked, looking you up and down. He traced your figure with his eyes, though it was far from sexual. Harley watched as you nodded, feeling a tinge of jealousy. She only saw Rick as a friend of course but she envied how much he adored you.

“I’m alright,” you promised. “Some bruises but that’s all.”

“I could use a couple drinks. What do y’all say?! On me?”

“Harley, you don't have any money. You’re in prison,” Rick muttered. You shrugged.

“Party pooper,” she muttered.

“Come on Rick. Harley’s been doing so good, I think she deserves a treat,” you said. Rick gave you a long look but he knew you were right. You and him had been roped into the different versions of the Suicide Squad and Harley was the only constant member. You had grown fond of her. Rick had to, though he would never actually say it.

“Listen to your girlfriend!” Harley said.

“We have to talk to Waller otherwise your head will get blown up after walking in,” Rick said. Harley let out a loud exaggerated grown.

“I’ll talk to Waller,” you said, walking between Harley and Rick back to the rendezvous point.

“This is why you’re my favorite,” Harley said with a smile. You glanced over at her with a similar smile. You were glad the three of you had made it out alive. You were the only ones worth a damn anyway. “Can I get a pick at who comes with us next time? There’s some inmates I have been dying to throw to the sharks.”

“No Harley,” Rick said. He put his hand on your back, leading you there as though you couldn’t handle yourself.

“Oh come on Flag.” She looked over at you. “How about you? You know, if you two get married I think I’m going to call you the better Flag. Mmm I don’t like that. I’ll come up with something catchy.”

“I’m sorry Harley, we don’t even get a say. That’s all Waller,” you explained.

“Waller, Waller, Waller. Who said she was so special?” Harley sulked. You shrugged.

“Someone who hated you I’m sure.”

You stood beside Amanda Waller as she looked over a computer.

“No,” she muttered.

“I knew you were going to say that so I came with backup points. Harley deserves an outing okay? Rick and I will be right there with her the whole time. I won’t drink a drop and if it makes you feel any better, neither will he. I know she did a lot of bad things but she’s atoning for them by being the only consistent member of the Squad. Amanda, she deserves this.” Waller stood up and looked you right in the eyes. You would be lying if you said she wasn’t intimidating.

“She’s a criminal.”

“Not all criminals are awful people.”

“She would betray you in a blind of an eye.” You shook your head.

“She wouldn't, I don’t think. She’s changed since knowing the Joker. Come on. I’ll even give her my own leave time.” Waller seemed to like that. She hated when you and Flag left at the same time. She hated that two of her best were dating. It just added liability.

“I don’t condone it but if you...if you take Harley out for one night I’ll look the other way.” You smiled brightly.

“Thank you so much. She’ll be so excited.”

“If she kills someone I’m charging you for it.”

“Of course!”

“Harley, get down from there!” Rick called. He had his arm around you, holding you tightly to his side. You had your head on his chest sleepily, though you were laughing gently at what Harley was doing.

“Flag you are such a party pooper!” she whined, stepping down from the table. She sat back down in the booth.

“It’s like watching a child,” he murmured. You moved his hand that was around your shoulder and kissed his palm gently.

“Go get more drinks Rick.”

“I’m not leaving her unattended.”

“I’m here. Relax.” He looked between you and the Queen of crime before sliding out of the booth.

“I’ll be only a second.” He walked away and disappeared in the crowd. Harley leaned over the table.

“So what’s he like in bed?” she asked, laughing. You shook your head leaning back.

“What do you think?”

“That good huh?!” You giggled back at her and tried to find Rick in the crowd but he was long gone. You looked back at Harley. “Thanks for this by the way.” She gestured wildly around the club. “It’s been ages since I’ve gotten a good drink.”

“Of course. You deserve it.” She smiled genuinely.

“You know, I like you!” she said. “I like you and your boyfriend. Not as much as you like each other but hey, that’s a hard feat to match.” You grinned gently.

“Is that jealousy I sense Harls?” She shrugged.

“I don’t wanna sleep with you or him, no offense. I just...admire how much he loves you. He’s never mean to you and I don’t think he’s ever killed your dog or nothing. You must really love each other.” You leaned over the table and grabbed her hand. She met your eyes.

“You’ll find that one day Harley. It’s worth the wait.”

“What is this? You tryin to steal my girlfriend Quinn?” You pulled away slowly from her and met Rick’s eyes. Harley’s exaggerated smile was back on her face like it had never left.

“I just might! You better watch out Flag.”

“Don’t worry hun, I only have eyes for you,” you said to him as he put down the drinks. He put your arm back around you and kissed your forehead.

“If you left me for someone in jail I might be a little offended.”

“Hey, I’m a catch,” Harley said. You took a drink out of your cup.

“Alright you two, let's just enjoy the rest of the evening before we have to get you back to prison.”

“Cheers then!” Harley held up her cup. You and Rick clinked them together.

“Cheers.”

And you know, without turning that Harley Quinn is smirking at you while Ivy looks at you with those hungry eyes that make you feel like you're being hunted- and it's getting harder and harder to avoid getting caught.

"Nothing much," you hum, already reaching for bottles, "The usual?"

"Please," Ivy murmurs, practically purring.

Forcing yourself to take a deep breath before you turn, you start mixing drinks, "Long day?"

"Nothing our favorite bartender can't cure," Harley assures. And you know. You know that she watching you. Her fingers skim your wrist when you hand her her cocktail. And when your breath hitches, just slightly, their matching grins give you butterflies.

"I'll do my best," you manage, trying to ignore the heat in your belly.

"Level with me, Beautiful," Ivy hums, "How long has it been?"

"Since-"

"Since you took a tumble with anyone other than your battery operated boyfriend," Harley said, her eyes glittering. Mocking, teasing, but not cruel.

"I don't- I just-"

"That long?" Pamela tsked, shaking her head. "Harls- it's a crime."

"A Damn shame," Harely agrees, picking up a napkin and scrawling a number on it.

"I-" You can't think. You can't move. You know they're dangerous but- fuck. They just smell so good.

Harley tucks the slip of paper in the breast pocket of your flannel, her clever finger, brushing lightly against your nipple piercing, making your knees tremble. "You little shit," she says, "I never woulda guessed."

"Hmm?" Ivy said, her eyes teasing as she sipped her drink.

"She's pierced," Harley said satisfied.

"Ooo," she purred, "Barbells or?"

"Feels like little stars- so cute!"

"Got any more?" Ivy asked, interested.

"No spoilers!" Harley said leaning up and kissing the end of your nose sweetly, "Just- just give us a call huh? We'll walk you home."

And before you can process what just fucking happened, they drop a hundred dollar bill on the bar and you're left staring at their glasses. Blushing and stammering as Ivy teases Harley about you being their little shooting star.

Hooo, wait until he hears about Harley beating the crap out of the Joker and living her own life. Or Batman and Cat woman getting married. Honestly it’s amazing people think they can spoil comics because there are so many different storylines and alternate universes and etc that really, it doesn’t make a difference if you tell me what happens in one story, cause there’s also an alternate universe where all the DC hero’s died but Supergirl and Batman’s daughter (forgive me I forgot her name) got sent to a different universe and became Powergirl and (why you do this memory).

Also there’s a Batman story, that’s actually part of the story where he marries Catwoman, where the Joker and the Riddler have a full out war with each other. And they’re basically Best friends. I actually refuse to say more than that because it’s actually such a great story.
